Personality
Personality: Zondo is constantly planning his next move. He has a humongous store of papyrus in multiple chests within his captain’s chamber, plotting out his courses, plunders, and day to day happenings. He uses it to grow stronger at his strengths and eliminate his weaknesses, learning from his mistakes and building on his victories. Every single thing he does is planned out, and even when he spots a ship he like he will remain just in sight of it and plan out the multiple battle plans, depending on the weather, before he strikes like a viper and bites like a tiger. And this applies not just to his sea battles, but also to his social life, where he plans out every minute of the day.
Alaric Elizondo is a man of his words, never breaking a vow and always fulfilling a promise. If he owes you money, he will give you every penny. If he says he’ll let you live, you will not die by his hand. And in battle, he always shows a respectable amount of mercy, only killing those who fight back and taking as prisoner everybody else. He is feared on the seas, yet equally respected as a pirate who will never take more life than he has to, but is not afraid to eliminate any who refuse his offer of extraordinary generosity.
Zondo is always looking for new riches, whether it is from treasures of gold and silver or prisoners to sell in Ignis or Unda. If you have an offer that gets him money without putting him in danger, he will accept in a heartbeat minus one. Gold in exchange for information? Yes. Goods for transport across the sea? Come on board. Anything, ANYTHING, that will help him get richer is a done deal to be accepted.
If there’s ever been a person who will always tell you the black and white truth, it’s Zondo. He doesn’t believe in secrets, bias, fibbing, or anything that takes sides. He tries to tell the complete truth and stay on the middle road. If Zondo had to lie, he would mix it with so much truth it would make absolutely no sense, and probably get him worse out then just saying what was on his mind. The times he does lie he always gets out of that place before all hell breaks loose when the person he lied to realizes he is a lier.

- Sunny Days When It’s Cold: For god’s sake, it’s a contradiction in every sense!

Elemental Strengths- Durable Fire: With about a minute of preparation, he can start a fire that needs less fuel and lasts longer than most natural fires.
- Large Heat Blasts: When it is warm enough around him he can call on all the heat around him and make it into one large, concentrated blast.
Elemental Weaknesses- Delicate Fire: The ability to create small, quick fires has been lost to the wind for him.
- Warming Himself: As he’s gotten used to cold and naturally having fire through him, he’s forgotten how to manually warm himself up to a further extent.

History: Zondo’s parents Marcy, a sculptor, and Amar, a elementalist shaman, met when Marcy moved to a village with a long history of Ignis heritage from the capital of Ignis at the age of 27 to get more stone for her art. Having been raised Raderm (the village), Amar welcomed Marcy from the beginning, as he was not only her member, but the cousin of the person who told Marcy about Raderm. Eventually Marcy and Amar, grew a romantic bond, and were supposed to be wed the next June, with Marcy 29 and Amar 31. Being wed, it was only a matter of months until the element of Health blessed the couple with a child, and that July Alaric Elizondo was born in a the village medic’s home.
Being the child of a shaman, Alaric was immediately given blessing of elements by his father mere moments after his birth, as to insure his complete success in wielding his element. The blessing was soon accepted, when the flame tattoo on his back did not come off with the five second wiping. Taken home after the sunset, Alaric was set for the moon lighting, being placed atop a stone platform exactly fifteen meters in front of the house door until the sunrise. The next day, Amar went out to see if the baby had cried. The way the ritual goes is, if the baby cries over the night, they are destined to be a good man. If they don’t cry, they shall be evil and cruel. However, Alaric cried RIGHT as the sun rose, making a bridge, and not being evil or good, but instead a rebel.
Even since his young days as a child, Alaric was a hassle. He never truly was bad, just rebellious. Whether it was doing what his parents asked of him or pulling pranks on the neighbors, Alaric was constantly finding ways to cause trouble. Yet despite his rebellious ways, he generally tried to do things that would aid the village, such as how he would help to unload the monthly supply shipments from the capital.
During Alaric’s teenage years, a pirate attack on the Terran Navy caused the king to send soldiers across the continent looking for potential recruits to refuel the Navy. When they came to Raderm, Alaric was quickly interested in the prospect of sailing the seas and fighting off Terran enemies. Without informing his parents, Alaric quickly signed himself up, setting him up for a journey he did not expect to come out of this adventure.
At the end of that week, Alaric snuck off during the daily meditation and joined the recruiter caravan as they headed further south, towards the port of Sard. Day and night he was trained in physical expertise and basic military rules, having informed him that he would go through true officer training as soon as they arrived in Sard. By the time they reached Sard, Alaric’s parents accepted that he was gone and Alaric finally got over the fact he would never see his parents again.
He went through three years of rigorous officer training until he was 19, being taught the arts of sea navigation, fencing, command, and everything else an officer in the Terran Navy needed. At the end of the three years he had become one of the best at sea tactics and leadership in the pool of recruits, and was placed as the first mate on the TEN Rankor, a war galleon for the Terran Navy.
By the time he was 23, the captain of the Rankor was killed in combat and Alaric was promoted to captain. For three years he was one of the most efficient captains in the Terran Navy, blocking many skirmishes along Terran coasts and leading fleets into battles multiple times. But when the Western War broke out, Alaric started to lose his composure in battle. He didn’t agree with the reasons for the war, and heard news of other ships defecting from Terran and Ignis navies. Eventually, he decided after a long consideration he was going to rally his men to leave the Terran Navy and become freelancers.
Besides a few resisters, the overall ship chose to defect from the Navy to work on their own. Changing his name to Zondo and renaming the ship to be the Fortuna, Zondo went to an Udna port to make the changes. Soon afterwards he started to become a pirate, realizing that was the best job opportunity for a sailor not in the Navy. Over the course of the last fifteen years, Zondo and the Fortuna have become feared and respected on the high seas for their strength and tactics. Now Zondo looks to rumors and lore to reach new riches, even if it means going inland.

Tossing the gourd into the air, he made sure not to break it when he caught it. Manners meant it all. If you don't treat people right, nobody will treat you right. At least, you know, that's Michalis's philosophy. Treat others as you wish them to treat unto you. That's what his mother always said. Give respect, you get respect. That's just how the world works. Doesn't matter if you live to be fifty or one hundred, if you don't make a difference in the world.
As they neared her house, he noticed something that gave him a worried expression. That was the house he had hid his stuff at. Even more surprising was the fact that she invited him to stay at her place tonight. He thought about it for a second, then looked over at her. "Good to meet you, Maya, but you don't need to offer your place for me to stay. It's not necessary, but thank you." Looking at the money he had to stay, he realized he barely had any. Unless there was a way for him to work for his stay at the inn, he would have to accept her offer.
Watching as the scene commenced at the door, he slowly lowered the water gourd onto the ground and stretched a little. Even for somebody as fit as him, that took some effort to pull off. Thinking when she asked if he would like to come in, he bit his lip and asked for one second. Running around the house, he pulled his bag on and put his quiver on, grabbing his bow and walked back around to the door. "Well, if you don't mind, if I am going to come in, I would rather not leave my stuff lying around. I'm sure there is little to no crime here, but, you know, better safe than sorry." Picking up the gourd again, he looked at Maya again. "So, shall we?"
